LIHACO Officials Caught In Illegal Benefits

Lilongwe Handling Company (LIHACO) acting senior managers are caught in a controversy where it is alleged that the two have claimed benefits which do not belong to them, our sources have confirmed.
LIHACO Board Chair, Gift Nankhuni could not comment on the matter since it was a Easter holiday.
“We dont micro manage boss. I need to find out and respond. After the holiday” He said in an interview.
However this publication is duly informed that on 10 February, 2021, the Acting Operations Director, Charles Makhuyula Nkhoma wrote Finance and Administration Director, Mphatso Mponda, asking for the replacement of company phone.
A court case involving four Fisd Limited Company directors failed to commence Tuesday in Lilongwe as the presiding magistrate, senior resident magistrate Shyreen Chirwa, has reportedly been transferred to the industrial relations court.
Nankhuni: I will apply for “outright” dismissal of the case because the state “is not serious and ready to prosecute the case”.
Both Fisd lawyer Gift Nankhuni and state prosecutor Levi Mangani confirmed the development, saying they are now waiting to appear before a new magistrate.
Nankhuni actually added that the state “had not yet even” submitted formal charge sheets against the Fisd directors by Tuesday as ordered by senior resident magistrate Chirwa on 5 March.

Foundation for Irrigation and Sustainable Development (Fisd) Limited lawyer, Gift Nankhuni, on Friday, March 5, asked the Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate Court to discharge a case involving four Fisd directors, arguing the State “is not serious and ready to prosecute the case”.

However, prosecutor Levi Mangani, asked the court to give the State 30 more days so it would “wind up” its investigations on the matter.
Senior Resident Magistrate Shyreen Chirwa has since accepted the State’s plea and adjourned hearing of the case to 6 April, 2021.

Since FISD directors namely Frank Mwenechanya, Arthur Mpama, Moses Chirambo and Kondwani Nanchukwa were released on bail on November 13,2020, the State prosecutors have failed to show up at court with formal charges as expected on the way the four were arrested
