onboard fire took that plane down or an event on the jet that caused the cabin to decompress. joining me now to talk about those two theories why they may be plausible or ruled out. david soucie from denver. colonel michael kay and aviation attorney mark dombroff who just so happened to represent the charter company with the jet involved in that ghost flight and ultimate crash that took the life of pga champion payne stewart in 1999. might i remind you that was caused by decompression. mark, i d like to start with you on that. i m sure that was of keen interest to you when you heard about this flight fridays ago, is it possible decompression was the cause here? i don t think we can rule it out. i recall that particular flight where f-16 fighters from the national guard went up to basically shadow the aircraft after air traffic control advised it was not flying its
acid emitted from the haylon would leak into the plane and incapacitate everyone and be another ghost flight. is that what you re saying? exactly. thank you for that and thank you all of you, just invaluable information. stay with me, folks. with all these theories about what happened to this plane, there are the hard realities. hard realities of trying to physicalically locate any piece of it. is searching by air even relevant anymore? should different types of search technology be introduced into this mystery? a look at all these questions and why they may be valid or not, coming up. oyab way to get your fiber. try phillips fiber good gummies. they re delicious, and an excellent source of fiber to help support regularity. wife: mmmm husband: these are good! marge: the tasty side of fiber. from phillips. mom has a headache! had a headache! but now, i& don t.
with us. and joining us, chris ready, a senior scientist. thank you for joining us on the panel tonight. you have been investigating the accidents since the early 80s. you worked on the air france investigation. so you re new to the speculation poluzza we have here. what is your theory on what happened to flight 370? well, i still think the facts are so unlimited. however, to me, it does appear as if there was some type of catastrophic event that incapacitated the flight crew. i think the basic elements of what we know thus far point in that direction. so maybe a fire, they were knocked unconscious and it flew on its own? the ghost flight, as some call it? it would be something similar to that. the catastrophic events, as we say in aviation, nothing bad happens until something bad happens, and tragically, when they do, they happen very
into a dive or rapid climb. in terms of the final ping, this is where i think tim s analysis is spectacular. i think tim has the best blog out there on this. it could mean change in presentation of the aircraft to the satellite meaning a final dive or could mean there was a power loss. in either case it could mean that particular point is where the aircraft went down or went into its final glide which would help people find the black box. i would say too, the black box obviously is not going to have the conversations when this big swooping turn was made back to malaysia. it will tell us whether the airplane slowly went into the water, whether it lost one engine and fell in or was deliberately pushed in. most importantly we ll know too whether there were inputs to the flight management system saying there was a pilot in the cockpit commanding it or as some suggest was a ghost flight.
since the airplane has been missing, my theory is something happened mechanically and the crew has been unconscious and the airplane crashed earlier or continued on as a ghost flight with no body at the control. because so much information has been coming out that is incorrect, we are pinning every we have on the slight pings telling us this airplane suffered a catastrophic failure and they are saying the plane dived to 12,000 feet which is indicative of a sudden emergency like a rapid decompression and there is lot of eye witnesses that reported ball in the air but we are supposed to believe it continued to fly on to the fuel reserves unpil
