Both of them admitted smuggling the weapons into the country. Summary of evidence and Pre-trial advised that the two should be Court Martial but all of them have been left-off-the-hook and are walking free.

Soldier Held Over Defilement Granted GH¢100,000 00 Bail

  A 30-year-old soldier accused of having sex on multiple occasions with a 14-year-old girl at Burma Camp, Accra has been admitted to bail by an Accra Circuit Court. Corporal Offei Richard Okyere was admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000.00 with two sureties, who are to be public servants earning not less than GH¢2,000.00. The Court presided over by Mrs. Christiana Cann indicated that the complainant had written to the court to withdraw the matter. Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Opoku Aniagyie said he had seen the withdrawal letter but the Police were going to pursue the case. When the matter was called, the complainant was not in court.

Soldier in court for defiling 14-year-old girl January 14, 2021 ProA 30-year-old soldier has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, for allegedly having sex multiple times with a 14-year-old girl, at Burma Camp, Accra.    Corporal (Cpl) Offei Richard Okyere, charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty, and the Court presided by Adelaide Abui Kadey, remanded accused into Military custody, to reappear on January 27.    Detective Sergeant Opoku Aniagyei told the court that the complainant, is a 53-year-old labourer of the Ghana Military Police, residing at Burma Camp, Accra.    The prosecution said the victim, a Junior High School student, is residing with the father, complainant in the case.

  A 30-year-old Soldier has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, for allegedly having multiple sex with a 14-year-old girl at Burman Camp, Accra. Corporal Offei Richard Okyere, charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty. The Court presided over by Mrs Adelaide Abui Kadey, remanded Okyere into Military custody to reappear on January 27. The facts as presented by Detective Sergeant Opoku Aniagyei are that; the complainant is a 53-year-old labourer of the Ghana Military Police residing at Burma Camp, Accra. The prosecution said the victim is a 14-year-old Junior High School Student, residing with the father who is the complainant in the case.
