When KTVB Digital Producer, Celina Van Hyning, accidentally tweeted a link to longtime anchor, Mark Johnson s, updated bio on their website she had no idea that it would launch him to internet stardom.
Since the infamous tweet was posted, it was retweeted more than 3,000 times and racked up over 18,000 likes. For a little while, Mark Johnson was the #2 trending topic in the United States and from there the memes exploded. Governor Little got in on it.
Well known, national brands got in on it.
The most well known sign in all of the Treasure Valley got in on it.
While no one, not even THE Mark Johnson himself, will figure out why the out of context tweet took off the way it did, all of us can agree that after what s been an emotionally exhausting year this was exactly the type of silliness we needed in our lives. Especially after Boise s made national news for some pretty embarrassing things throughout the pandemic.
