I have been thinking about tikkun olam, the literal translation meaning “world repair.” In Judaism, tikkun olam has become synonymous with the idea of social action and the pursuit of justice. A perfect example of tikkun olam is Rosario Del Rio speaking out in her Guest Opinion, “My neighborhood peace, security could be disrupted once again.” Thank you, Rosario. Your thoughts and writing about your experiences and what the proposed condos for our neighborhood could do, is just that, Tikkun Olam. I wish more people would speak up.
