THE FLATS – No. 10 Georgia Tech scored in 14 of the final 19 innings of the series to clinch its 12
th-straight ACC series after a 13-9 win over No. 1 Louisville on Sunday afternoon at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Five multi-hit batters powered the Yellow Jackets (8-3, 5-1 ACC), led by
Tres Gonzalez, who finished 3-for-5 with two RBI, including a crucial squeeze bunt that scored a key insurance run in the eighth.
Drew Compton had another strong day, going 2-for-2 with another home run and double for three RBI, while
Andrew Jenkins (2-for-4, 3 RBI),

Greensboro, N.C. – For the second consecutive week, Georgia Tech’s
Moses Wright was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday in voting by a panel of 15 members of the media. It is the third time Wright has received the honor this season, having done so last week and also in December. It is the fourth time a Tech player has been so honored this season; Jose Alvarado was named in early January.
The 6-9 senior forward, who earlier Monday was named the ACC’s Player of the Year, cemented that honor last week when he scored 29 points with 14 rebounds in the Tech’s 81-77 overtime win against Duke, and followed that performance with 17 points and four rebounds as the Yellow Jackets closed out their regular season with a 75-63 win at Wake Forest. Tech (15-8 overall, 11-6 in the ACC) has won six straight games and secured the No. 4 seed in this week’s New York Life ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C.

Jose Alvarado was voted the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Year and a second-team All-ACC honoree Monday by a vote of the ACC panel of media and coaches, highlighting the list of honors awarded to Yellow Jacket players following the team’s run to a fourth-place finish in the ACC.
Wright becomes the third Yellow Jacket to be named the conference’s top player.

Greensboro, N.C. – Riding a six-game winning streak to close out the regular season, Georgia Tech has earned the No. 4 seed for the 68th annual New York Life ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum, receiving a double-bye to the quarterfinal round. The Yellow Jackets, 15-8 overall with an 11-6 ACC mark, will play their first game at 2:30 p.m. Thursday against either Clemson, Miami or Pittsburgh.
The Tigers (16-6, 10-6) open tournament play Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of the opening-round game against the winner of the opening-round game between No. 12-seed Pitt (10-11, 6-10) and No. 13 seed Miami (8-16, 4-15), which occurs at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The survivor will advance to face the Yellow Jackets Thursday. It is the first time since the ACC expanded to 15 teams that Georgia Tech has received a bye to the quarterfinals, and the Jackets’ fourth-place finish is the team’s best since it tied for third in 2004.

Justyn-Henry Malloy also launched a huge three-run homer.
Louisville was led by three multi-hit performances. Lucas Dunn went 3-for-4 on the day to lead their hitters.
The rubber match is set between 10
th-ranked Georgia Tech and top-ranked Louisville for Sunday, March 7. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ACC Network and WREK 91.1 FM.
