MARIETTA, Ga. Nowhere has the post-Trump era been more painful for the Republican Party than in Georgia, where Trump loyalists’ war on Republican elected officials is still raging, at great cost.

ATLANTA Georgia fundraising powerhouse Stacey Abrams raised close to $100 million for Democratic candidates in the two years since she lost to GOP Gov. Brian Kemp in a close statewide race, records filed Friday showed.
In the last two months of 2020 alone, Fair Fight PAC had raised more than $62 million, funneling most of it into groups that helped President-elect Joe Biden edge out President Trump and, more remarkably, flip two Republican incumbent Senate seats into the D-column.
Between Oct. 26 and Dec. 31, Fair Fight PAC said it had 550,000 donors and that the group has raised about $95 million since it was created after Abrams lost to Trump-backed Kemp, according to reports filed Friday. The massive numbers make Abrams s Fair Fight the strongest Democrat-supporting fundraising PAC in the Peach State.

The latest early voting numbers released Thursday morning by state officials indicate that more than 2.8 million people – or more than a third (36.4%) of all registered voters in Georgia – have already cast a ballot in the election. That’s well more than half of the record-setting 4.9 million total voters in the state who cast in the general election.
Democrats are optimistic about the chances of challengers Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock defeating Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler based on the early-vote numbers. The figures show that Black voters – a crucial base of the Democratic Party – making up a larger percentage of the early-voting electorate than in November’s general election. And they show higher turnout in D
