Multiple Akron Public Schools teachers are raising concerns over violence in the buildings and criticizing the administration for not doing enough to protect students and educators.
DOWNTOWN AKRON Seven employees of the Akron Public Schools (APS), who also serve as officers, board members and committee chairs of the Akron Education Association (AEA), spoke before the Board of Education Nov. 7 about the surge of student violence and the administration’s “dismissal, disengagement and disrespect” of staff members on the front lines.
