States of emergency have been declared in two counties right now as the worst santa ana winds in a decade whip up the flames across highways and into neighborhoods redu ashes in just a matter of minutes, and the worst may be yet to come. Wednesday morning as a flames engulfed an area near the getty center in the brentwood area of los angeles. The fire broke out near the 405 freeway and mulholland drive just before 5 a. M. , Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said. The fire had burned about 6 acres, stewart said. A sigalert was issued for the closure of all northbound lanes on the 405 freeway just after 5 a. M. , according to the california highway patrols traffic incident log. Officials were considering closing the southbound lanes as well. The fire began as crews are spread across Southern California fighting several brush fires, including the thomas fire, the creek fire and the rye fire. Forecasters are calling for another afternoon of gusty winds, which will help fuel the fires on wednesday. I was assured nothing like this would happen again. Again. But it did this past monday to stewarts 10year old fourth grader. He got on the right bus, but fell asleep, and woke up when it went through the intersection of madison and red bank roads. Seconds later, he sleepily got off. Off. He realized as soon as he stepped out into the sunlight this aint where im supposed to be. By this time the bus was gone. Gone. Luckily, another Good Samaritan came along and took the boy home to call his parents. Stewart called First Student again. Again.
