Investigators say he sold a deadly concoction of heroin and fetanyl. Vance morgan is manslaughter after police say he contributed to the death of casey fewell in october. The charges are the result of a four month long investigation by the Hamilton County Heroin Task Force. What we do now on a fatal heroin overdose is we treat that like the crime scene that it is. Sergeant mikal steers says the task force goes after the dealers that provide addicts that lethal dose. The people that were dying from these heroin overdoses, there was never any punishment. There was never any consequences for the people supplying the fatal heroin. Last year, the Task Force Investigated 53 fatal overdoses. They collected enough evidence to prosecute 9 cases. Steers says most of their Investigations Center around the dangerouns combination of heroin and fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that makes each hit more potent and more lethal. They think theyre going out to buy a certain amount of heroin and they actually get fentanyl which is much more potent and thats where they fatal overdoses come into play. Vance morgan is also charged tonight with four counts of aggravated trafficking and corrupting a tristate man who videotaped his arrest last week faces more charges tonght.
