Why do you ask . [ laughter ] i dont think so. I sense a very different tone in harrisburg. I mean, last year i think there was a little bit of testing, and and there was a different approach this year. I think people want to get it done. The governor also said he didnt overreach with his last budget, which had many moving parts and led to a standoff with republicans that just ended last month, almost 10 months. Now, meanwhile, a source tells me republicans are, indeed, weary about what happened last year and into this year, but that theyre even more committed than ever on holding the line on taxes and even described this whole situation this way the gop has wolf boxed in. Would you agree, george . You know, they control both houses you know, the senate and the house in harrisburg. But i think even they have to answer to the public at some point in time, and i think they all understand that. I think the benefit this time around, whether the governor is right or whether the legislators

To the devastating news, another mass murder. This time in orlando. For Hillary Clinton and donald trump, the first major test of whether they have what it takes to lead america in a time of turmoil. The contrast was dramatic. Hillary clinton in lock step with the president and her party, blaming intolerance and easy access to militarygrade guns. Donald trump attacking Hillary Clinton and the president as weak. Saying the answer is more restriction on immigration and more guns. Then, reaching out to gay americans and issuing a challenge to the nra. This week, trump took his message to texas. Where he drew large and enthusiastic crowds. Lines extending as far as the eye can see. We caught up with trump in houston. Before thousands of supporters in houston i love you, i love you, texas reporter donald trump doubled down on his call of more guns as a solution to the orlando massacre. If some of those wonderful people had guns strapped right here, right to their waists or right to their an

Week long, and we have a multitude of feelings since its a complex question. But i think the first thing we really have to say, any of us, is to the loved ones here in the area and in florida who suffered and lost their loved ones, we have to say to them, you didnt die in vain. What happened in orlando has created a sea change, not only across the United States, but across the world. Think about what happened. There have been candlelight vigils in almost every major city in the United States. In sydney, australia, they lit the sydney bridge in rainbow. The eiffel tower was lit up in rainbow. There were literally almost 100,000 people out in london. Tel aviv city hall was done. The ben franklin bridge in our area. Ben franklin bridge. And what you see from that is a movement. No longer are allies being quiet. Theyre now coming out and supporting in full strength. So, these people didnt die in vain because what youre going to see is already happening. Youre gonna see nondiscrimination la

A growing refugee e population. And persistent fear. How france is fighting the terror threat. From abc news, its this week here now, coanchor martha raddatz. Good morning. Weve come to expect harsh rhetoric in this campaign. This week may have been one of the ugliest weeks so far. The candidates unleashing heated words about race, bigotry, and intolerance. Donald trump chasing the minority vote and hurling a blistering accusation at his opponent. Hillary clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings, worthy of a better future. Shes going to do nothing for africanamericans. Shes going to do nothing for the hispanics. Hillary clinton tying trump to the socalled altright movement. Donald trump has built his campaign on prejudice and paranoia. Hes taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over the Republican Party. But both candidates also facing problems of their own making this week. The democratic nominee dogged by new charges of i

Educational opportunities better. Do you think its too little, too late for him to try that tactic, george . Well, look, i think the tactic is okay, but i think that its not going to bear much fruit. I mean, i dont think donald trump has any real potential to penetrate the Africanamerican Community. If you look at the trump organization, there are no africanamericans. You dont see any africanamericans visible in his campaign. You dont see any of them in all of these great speeches that hes made. He has the decorations behind him have not shown private sector or insiders to donald trump. When you look at Hillary Clinton, cheryl mills has always been there. You look at al gore, Donna Brazile was always there. You look at bill clinton, Vernon Jordan was always there. Theres a history in the Democratic Party for that support. Donald trump ha so, the focus groups that hes now putting together and meeting with different heads of leadership, thats not going to do it . I mean, you know, nobody
