NMS Gets Ksh 600M Machines to Transform Nairobi Look

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) received operational vehicles and sewer flushing units worth Ksh600 million from the national government, which would be used in the transformation of the city.
On Saturday, May 29, Water CS Sicily Kariuki and NMS Director-General Mohamed Badi flagged off five operational vehicles and three sewer flushing vehicles.
The automobiles are part of the 22 operational vehicles which are set to be used under the Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration program; Sewerage Improvement project phase II (NaRSIP II) and Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program al under President Uhuru Kenyatta s Big 4 Agenda.

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services is set to carry another test run at the Green Park Bus Terminus tomorrow, Friday.
It will be the second of such an exercise, coming one month after its first one.
NMS is looking at commissioning the terminus soon, for drop-offs and pick-ups of passengers.
Last month, NMS carried out a similar test run to assess the possibility of implementing the gradual removal of matatus from the Central Business District (CBD) to the new terminal.
