The fishing ban being implemented in Oriental Mindoro due to the oil spill from the sunken tanker Princess Empress has resulted in income loss of around P400 million, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Tuesday said it planned to provide the more than 2,000 oil spill affected fisherfolk of Oriental Mindoro with alternative livelihood training.
A total of 500 beneficiaries of the iSTAR Program, the upgraded version of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority's (TESDA) Sari-Sari Store Training and Access Resources (STAR) Program has graduated, the agency announced.
