Ward will take up her new position next month, after recently announcing her departure from Birmingham City. The 37-year-old was nominated for the WSL Manager of the Year award after helping keep the Blues in the Barclays FA WSL despite a testing campaign. She was previously in charge at Sheffield United and achieved fifth and second place finishes with the Blades in the FA Women’s Championship.
