Shannon Chamber And Business Groups Pursue Supports For Airport

Clare FM 11th May 2021 Shannon Chamber and the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) in conjunction with Ennis, Limerick and Galway Chambers, are continuing their calls for a new funding model for regional airports. They’ve already argued that the airports – with a focus on Shannon of course – need multi-year capital expenditure support, a fixed euro amount per passenger to subsidise airport charges for airlines, and the provision of a regional route marketing fund. Last week, they presented more detailed plans to Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton and Department of Transport officials, and later this month they will address regional Oireachtas in a bid to canvass their support.

Planned Púca Of Ennistymon Statue Spooked Out Of Town

Clare FM 11th May 2021 Following our discussion on yesterday’s programme about locals’ upset at a planned statue of the Púca for Ennistymon, Clare County Council subsequently issued a statement that the erection of the statue had been put on pause to allow for a public engagement process to take place. On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to physical therapist in Ennistymon, based near where the proposed statue was supposed to be erected about the latest development. Gavin also spoke with storyteller in Crusheen, Eddie Lenihan about what the Púca actually is and whether the reaction to the statue was justified.
