Mumbai Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against the makers and cast of Amazon Prime s controversial web series Tandav , based on a complaint lodged by a BJP MLA in the city, an official said. The case was registered by the Ghatkopar police against the actors of the web series, including Saif Ali Khan and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, its director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki, head of Amazon s India head of original content Aparna Purohit, Amazon India s head Amit Agarwal, the official said. Tandav , which also features actors Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea, Kumud Mishra, Gauhar Khan and Kritika Kamra, premiered on the streaming platform last Friday.
The UP Police team is likely to record statements of the makers and cast and crew of the Amazon Prime Video s series, which has been accused of hurting religious sentiments for its depiction of Hindu deities.

New Delhi [India], January 20 (ANI): Amid controversy on Tandav web series, BJP Secretary and Lok Sabha MP from Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh, Vinod Sonkar has demanded action on the makers of the Mirzapur web series.
While speaking to ANI, Sonkar said that he is happy that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of complaints against Tandav web series, but also demanded that action be taken against the makers of Mirzapur for allegedly hurting the sentiments of people belonging to the region.

After complaint by BJP MLA Ram Kadam against web series Tandav, the Mumbai Police took a legal opinion and registered an FIR against the makers as well as actors of the show at the Ghatkopar Police Station on January 20. The names of the accused in the FIR are director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki, Head of India Origanals at Amazon Aparna Prohit, Senior VP and Country Manager Amit Agarwal, actor Saif Ali Khan and others.

The Mumbai Police on Wednesday filed a fresh FIR against the makers of the web series, Tandav. The show, which streams on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, had received criticism, particularly from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly showing members of one community in poor light.
The complaint was filed by BJP MLA Ram Kadam. The FIR which is lodged at the Ghatkopar Police Station, has been filed against Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra, Aparna Purohit (of Amazon Prime), Gaurav Solanki and Amit Agrawal. The sections filed against them include 153(A), 295 (A) and 505 (2). The name of the series s lead actor Saif Ali Khan was not added so far.
