Hyderabad, Feb 26 : Telangana s opposition Congress on Friday submitted a memorandum to Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundarajan, seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the killing of advocate couple.
A delegation of party leaders led by state party chief Uttam Kumar Reddy met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted her a memorandum for a court-monitored CBI probe into the gruesome murder of Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife Nagamani, who were practicing at the Telangana High Court.

A writ petition seeking transfer of the investigation into the lawyer couple murder case to CBI from the Ramagiri police of Ramagundam commissionerate has been filed in Telangana High Court.
The plea filed by slain advocate Gattu Vaman Rao’s father Gattu Kishan Rao is likely to come up for hearing in next two to three days. The petitioner also wanted five police officers, including Ramagundam Police Commissioner V. Satyanarayana, to be transferred from their present postings to ensure free and fair investigation of the case.

Telangana Congress stepped up its offensive against the TRS government meeting the Governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan and demanding that a court-monitored CBI inquiry be launched into the daylight murder of lawyer-couple, Vaman Rao and Nagamani, since the police and TRS leaders were facing accusations.
A delegation of Congress led by TPCC president. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and consisting of Manthani MLA, D. Sreedhar Babu, Sangareddy MLA, T. Jayaprakash Reddy and MLC, T. Jeevan Reddy met the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Friday morning and submitted a memorandum.

A lawyer couple was hacked to death by two persons in broad daylight on the main road near Kalvacherla village in Peddapalli district on February 17th. Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife PV Nagamani attended a case in Manthani Court on Wednesday and has been returning by car to his home in Hyderabad. Suddenly, two persons stopped Vaman Rao s car and attacked the couple. A video of two persons inflicting injuries on Vaman Rao went viral on social media. Later, the wife of Vaman Rao was also attacked. The couple have been immediately rushed to the government hospital in Peddapalli. They have been died while undergoing treatment.
