International Table Tennis Federation 13 Apr 2021 Crowned Latin American champion in 2013 in San Salvador, Paraguay’s Marcelo Aguirre is the top seed in the men’s singles event at the forthcoming 2021 Latin American Singles and Mixed Doubles Qualification tournament to be staged in the Argentine city of Rosario from Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th April. Ito and Ovtcharov win WTT Contender singles titles in Doha

Saturday, 6 March 2021 Japan’s Mima Ito and Germany’s Dimitrij Ovtcharov won the singles titles on finals day at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender tournament in Doha, Qatar. As well as the men’s and women’s singles finals, the showpiece match were also contested in the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall. The women’s singles final affair was an all Japanese match-up with Ito taking on her compatriot Hina Hiyata. Ito took the first two games of the contest 11-9, 11-8 before Hiyata fought back, claiming the next two 11-6, 11-9.

Star names join the party at WTT Middle East Hub - International Table Tennis Federation

International Table Tennis Federation 21 Jan 2021 Several world-class athletes have been added to the roster at the WTT Middle East Hub, which takes place between 3 – 13 March 2021 at Lusail Sports Arena in Doha, Qatar. The level of competition has been raised at the first official events of the WTT era thanks to the introduction of some elite names entering as wildcards in the men’s and women’s singles fields. Meanwhile, the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories have also been confirmed. The Middle East Hub will feature two tiers of the new WTT event structure, with a WTT Contender followed by a WTT Star Contender event in consecutive weeks, providing the perfect preparation for some of the world’s leading names to be challenged by the best up-and-coming athletes in table tennis.
