GARRETT â While there was no snow on the ground, Thursdayâs windy conditions made it a tough day to be an outfielder.
A deep, wind-blown fly ball that ticked off a glove and fell in for an error helped decide the outcome as Garrett came from behind to beat Angola 5-4 in a Northeast Corner Conference baseball game at Garrett.
âTo their credit, they never gave up,â Railroader coach Jason Richards said of his team. âI rode them; we were a little complacent when we came out here, and I think we thought we were pretty good at 5-1.
âWe needed a wake-up call. Angolaâs a good team,â he said. âTheyâre going to fight with us every time. Big leaders stepped up at the end.â
