Deadline Friday to register for Kremlin-Hillsdale, Fairmont elections Jan 12

(Billy Hefton / Enid News & Eagle) Billy Hefton | Enid News & Eagle Friday is the deadline to register to vote in the Jan. 12, 2021, special elections for Kremlin-Hillsdale Public Schools and town of Fairmont. Garfield County Election Board Secretary Michael Frisbie said in a press release that Friday will be the last day to register or update voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the elections. Kremlin-Hillsdale Public Schools is proposing a $2.03 million bond issue. The bond, according to Kremlin-Hillsdale Public Schools, will not raise taxes because of newly installed pipelines and wind turbines in the area.

Enid voters in Wards 3, 4 and 6 will elect commissioners in the Feb. 9 election, along with a winner in the Ward 3 recall election for Commissioner Ben Ezzell, who would then term out in May. All three Enid City Commission ward races — excluding the Ward 3 regular election — will have at least three candidates on the ballot. On the Enid Public Schools Board of Education, Offices 1 and 6 are up for reelection. School board elections are slated for other public school districts in Garfield County, including Drummond, Waukomis, Autry Technology Center, Cimarron, Chisholm, Covington-Douglas, Garber, Kremlin-Hillsdale and Pioneer-Pleasant Vale.

Garfield County candidate filings conclude with stacked city ward races

Dec 9, 2020 Another candidate has filed to run in the February recall against Ward 3 Enid City Commissioner Ben Ezzell. Enid resident Kent Rorick filed on Wednesday, the last day to file to run in both the recall and the regular elections, both to be held on Feb. 9. Keith Siragusa also filed in both Enid races Monday at the Garfield County Election Board office. Ezzell also will run in the recall battle to hold his seat for the remaining three months, after which he will term out of office and the winner of the regular ward election will be sworn in. All three Enid City Commission ward races — excluding the Ward 3 regular election — will have at least three candidates on the ballot.
