Generally, tree squirrels (Grey squirrels, red squirrels, flying squirrels) don’t do much lawn damage because of their diet. They eat nuts, seeds, and if need be, fungus and insects. They dig holes into the lawn during the day and are primarily concerned with hiding or retrieving nuts and seeds.
Privet is one of those plants that can divide gardeners into two camps. Some love the evergreen leaves coloring the winter landscape, providing the base for beautiful formal topiaries and hedges. Others see it as an invasive, non-native intruder.
Voles are small rodents that feed on the grasses, roots and bark of many plants in the garden landscape. Although in Pennsylvania, there are four types of voles, only two are commonly found in our area the meadow vole and the woodland/pine vole.
