Generally, tree squirrels (Grey squirrels, red squirrels, flying squirrels) don’t do much lawn damage because of their diet. They eat nuts, seeds, and if need be, fungus and insects. They dig holes into the lawn during the day and are primarily concerned with hiding or retrieving nuts and seeds.
