The Gang Reduction Initiative of Pine Bluff will host a youth violence community forum from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The community is invited attend.
The concerns include uncertainty of what the largest school district in the county will look like, the violence affecting young people across the city, the rising number of school expulsions and the lack of opportunities for students' social and educational well-being.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies on Friday arrested a 15-year-old boy who, officials said, planned to shoot one or more classmates at Watson Chapel Junior High School in Pine Bluff.
