I call this hearing of the Senate Environment Public Works Committee to order and like to defer to the Ranking Member. I thank the chairman. I apologize to our witnesses, some of whom come quite a distance. The democratic leader in the senate has called for an emergency caucus meeting to discuss the issues leading up to the dismissal of james comey as fbi director and to discuss how we might move quickly to insure that a special prosecutor is assigned and put to work right away.
