In 1963 Martin Luther king wasnt just fighting for racial equality, he was actually fighting for jobs and economic justice. Think about it. He died that way. A theme this president is continuing today. To hear americas first africanamerican governor tell it, we have certainly come a long way, and we have a long way to go. As Martin Luther king paved the way for an africanamerican president , this man i guess sort of hit the skids. Virginias former democratic governor with us. Governor, its a real pleasure to have you. Neil, good to be with you. You talk about this sort of weird juxtaposition between looking at the advancement and improvement weve made on things like racial equality, but not when it comes to just economic quality and the president himself mentioned it and said this is Something Party and generations have done. What is it that we cant budge . First of all,
0 rest of the people together, and he told them that the work is great and large and we are widely separated one from another on the wall, but when you hear the sound of the trumpets, and might i say when you hear the sound of the bells today, come to that spot and our god will fight with us, and so today, we re going to let freedom ring all across this nation. we re going to let freedom ring everywhere we go. if freedom is going to ring in libya, in syria, in egypt, in florida, then we must reach across the table, feed each other, and let freedom ring.
