Three Lewis-Clark State College student-athletes have been named Cascade Conference Athletes of the Week.
Cross country’s Cole Olsen and women’s basketball’s Abbie Johnson each earned their second awards of the season, while baseball’s Tallon Thomason earned his first nod as a Warrior.
Cole Olsen
Olsen dominated Friday when we won the LC State Winter Invitational One by nearly a minute-and-a-half. His time of 24:01 is the second-fastest time by a senior in the program record books. The Clearwater native led the Warrior men to their second team victory of the season. The Warriors host the LC State Winter Invitational Two Feb. 26th. The meet will serve as the final tune up for the Cascade Conference Championships on March 26th, which will also be held in the Lewiston Orchards.

Damek Mitchell
Mitchell, a senior point guard from Bellingham, Washington, helped lead the 7th ranked Warrior men to a pair of close wins on the road over 18th ranked NCAA Division 3 Whitworth last weekend.
Mitchell averaged 14 points per game, along with 6-and-a-half rebounds and 4-and-a-half assists in the two victories. In the process, he joined the program’s top 10 in all-time scoring with 1,091 points.
Johnson, a senior forward from Cashmere, Washington won her first ever conference award after averaging a double-double in the Warriors’ two-game split with 6th ranked Carroll College over the weekend.
She averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds over the two-game set.
Peyton Souvenir
Senior guard Peyton Souvenir posted a team-high 17 points – 16 of which came in the second half, and senior forward Abbie Johnson had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds as LC improved to 4-2 on the year. Carroll fell for the first time and is now 7-1 overall.
