Lewis-Clark State men’s basketball senior point guard Damek Mitchell has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Male Athlete of the Year.
Mitchell, who was named to the prestigious NABC All-America team this season, is a three-time NAIA All-American, and was named to the first team for the first time in his career this year. He was a Third-Team All-American last season and Honorable Mention as a sophomore. The Cascade Conference Player of Year was also named to the All-National Tournament Team.
Mitchell finished his LC career as the all-time leader in assists (595) and 3-pointers made (206). He is second all-time in free throws made (309) and wins (104), third in scoring (1,395), tied for fifth in games played (123), sixth in rebounds (546), eighth in steals (141) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.420).

Congratulations go out to former Squalicum High School basketball star Damek Mitchell. Mitchell just finished his senior season at Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho. He’s been named a first-team NAIA All-American. He led Lewis-Clark State to the national championship game last month.
The 5-9 guard averaged 15 points and six rebounds per game. He also led the Warriors in assists and steals.

With an 18-1 regular season and a Cascade Conference title under their belts, the 4th ranked Lewis-Clark State Men’s Basketball team took home four Cascade Conference awards and earned three of the five all-conference selections.
Damek Mitchell was voted the Cascade Conference Player of the Year, Hodges Bailey was tabbed the conference Defender of the Year, Oreon Courtney was named the Newcomer of the Year and Austin Johnson earned the second conference Coach of the Year title in his career.
Meanwhile, Lewiston native Trystan Bradley was also named to the All-Conference Team.
The Warriors will host an NAIA National Opening Round Tournament March 12th and 13th at the Activity Center. All LC post-season games for men and women will broadcast live on
