The Forum of Past Members of the State Executive Council of Enugu State has lambasted the Nigerian security operatives over the gruesome murder of Mr Dons Udeh, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, during the last general election. Recall that Udeh, a former commissioner in Enugu State, was murdered by yet-to-be-identified gunmen and his body was dumped at the 9th Mile area of the state, days after he was declared missing.
Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, decried the high rate of insecurity in the state The lawmakers, however, called on the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to tackle the situation. The lawmaker representing Nkanu West Constituency, Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu suggested that as a panacea to the insecurity problem, everyone should arm themselves. Aniagu condemned the mopping up of arms, saying that instead, rich people should procure arms for the underprivileged to tackle insecurity head-on.
