In an editorial piece in its mouthpiece Global Times, China claimed the US and the West only want to focus on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and that they have “intensified their efforts to castrate the G20”.
The 18th G20 summit will be held in New Delhi from September 9 to September 10 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The mega event will see the participation of global leaders, and several important matters on sustainable development, climate change and renewable energy will be discussed. Amitabh Kant called the declaration "historical and path-breaking". Kant said 100 per cent consensus was achieved on all developmental and geo-political issues, something that was hard to expect considering sharp divisions between the West and Russia-China.
