The elegant brick line beauty of the United Nations plaza has changed. Becoming a Gathering Place for the homeless and drug take into accounted. One day a week the atmosphere changes thanks to the sundays Farmers Market. And this Farmers Market was founded on that principle. From day one we had a line of people in this neighborhood waiting to purchase fresh produce. Reporter the presence of so many people discourages the troubled element from congregating and officials have taken notice. They asked if the market could operate seven days a week. But when that wasnt possible, the city quietly developed a plan to move the farmers out. Instead the plaza will soon contain a Public Recreation area including skateboarding, pickle ball, and tech board courts and pingpong and chess tables. My understanding in what we have been told is it is an experimental Pilot Project to try to improve conditions on u. N. Plaza. Weve been told that if it does not work out, if it proves to be unsuccessful, the

Last week they arrested a plan from oakland and seized fentanyl and other drugs along with 28,000 in cash and a loaded ghost gun. As an alternative to Law Enforcement there is the street Crisis Response team. That is the unit that helps people on the street who may be suffering from a drug or Mental Health crisis.
