reporter: look at the peak wind gusts we saw in southern california. this is the same system that continues to pounds the rockies. 81 miles an hour. that s over hurricane for winds. we are dealing with a monster storm that will move into the central u.s. bringing the threat for tornadoes. here is the threat across the rockies, up towards denver. they have seen 1-2 inches of snow so far this season. they typically see two feet this time around. but in the red that s where we have the blizzard warnings. and then of course some of this energy will move into the central u.s. and that means i ll be busy again tomorrow as we head into the new year s eve. future radar thursday into friday. we ll watch for the potential across the mississippi river valley and across the east
