The circumstances were challenging the patience and resilience of students and teachers alike and impeding District 214 s usual practice of placing students in work-based learning experiences. Against that backdrop, Director of Academic Programs and Pathways Megan Knight and Barbara Kain, the incoming Supervisor for Teaching and Learning, gathered at the drawing board, looking to create an elevated and unique learning experience for students in District 214 s Education Career Pathway.   What they designed and executed - with invaluable contributions from teachers and the District s higher education partners - was a resoundingly successful Future Educators Conference. The $10,000 grant will allow the district to expand its Future Educator program in ways such as expanding education career information at the junior high level. Group starts MacMurray Scholars program

Group starts MacMurray Scholars program FacebookTwitterEmail The MacMurray Foundation and Alumni Association is introducing a scholarship program through which it hopes to award at least $15,000 its first year. The foundation’s MacMurray Scholars will include at least 15 $1,000 scholarships to start, with plans to increase the number of scholarships and the amount awarded in coming years. Priority will be given to members of the MacFam Community including students whose MacMurray College education was disrupted by the school’s closing, alumni, faculty, staff and their families. MacMurray College closed in May after 174 years. MacMurray Foundation and Alumni Association was formed that month as an independent non-profit corporation seeking to preserve, maintain and continue the legacy of the school. It does not receive any funding from the college.
