Organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to support their commemorative projects and activities. Projects and activities relating to all wars, conflicts and peace operations are eligible. However, given the conclusion of the Anzac Centenary Period, projects and activities that commemorate the Second World War and later wars, conflicts and peace operations are now encouraged. Veterans Affairs Minister Darren Chester said the program, now in its 25th year, had supported thousands of projects nationally, but there were more projects across the nation still to be done. At the heart of commemoration is our communities and these grants will continue to provide the extra assistance that many need in order to remember their local wartime history and service personnel, Mr Chester said.

Central Queenslanders have two weeks to apply for grants up to $15,000 toward community projects that prevent and respond to domestic violence.
Member for Rockhampton Barry OâRourke said the grants would provide an opportunity to support and address issues that affected women in Rockhampton and strengthen partnerships across Queensland communities.
The Investing in Queensland Women program will provide $540,000 through two rounds of funding each year.
Organisations can apply in each round of grants, with categories consisting of up to $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000 amounts for initiatives.
âCommunity-driven initiatives and activities can include targeted campaigns or events, such as workshops or training, or the development of community resources to promote and respond to a particular issue,â Mr OâRourke said.
