Thanks for joining us. In the north bay, some residents gathered at a memorial dedicated to one 9 11 victim. But the memorial is now also home to many Homeless People. Thats right, and today, w asked abc 7 news Leah Melendez to pay a visit to the memorial and get an update on the homeless situation there. She joins us live. You mentioned that people around the world wanted this day to be a day of giving, of helping others, and its interesting because a friend of Lauren Graham colis told me thats exactly what she would have wanted to do, to help and feed the homeless. Lauren was among the casualties of the september 11th attacks. The city she lived in, san rafael, built this memorial one year later. Today, peggy butler brought flowers to honor the 38yearold who was three months pregnant at the time. Especially the fact she was from san rafael and pregnant. So i always stop here to pay my respects. Every year. Every year. But some complain that the site on Fourth Street has become a regu
Cheryl is very traumatized by this. She is not feeling good. She is in the condition i havent personally seen her in before, and she believes like i did that if we had treatment on demand, this never would have happened. Treatment on demand if it was implemented years ago, the Mental Health of the people in the tenderloin would be better and this never would happen. Cheryl isnt here because of the trauma she is facing. We talked before this so i can tell her story. This is something we can fix if we get some Mental Health services. Please join the community with us and enact this and help us pass treatment on demand. Supervisor mandelman thank you. Next speaker. Thank you, supervisors. I am here to support treatment on demand. I am denny smith. I lived in San Francisco 45 years. Three were on the street. I am so proud to be in San Francisco today because so many people have great ideas and are working so hard to make this a better city. It is not a lack of ideas or lack of initiative.

Southbound you have four lanes of the commute direction, and just two lanes of the northbound direction. No fog. Perfectly clear out there with the almost full moon and traffic is light over the waldo grade into San Francisco. Well check on a motorcycle accident on the Altamont Pass in our next report.
