The town of Rotterdam has hired an engineering consultant to do programming and a conceptual design of the former Kmart building at the Rotterdam ViaPort so the town can explore the possibility of relocating its offices there.
The town voted unanimously Wednesday evening during its town board meeting to hire Albany engineering firm Barton & Loguidice for $32,000.
The firm is expected to develop a plan to reconfigure the 80,000-square-foot space to house the town’s administrative offices, police and public works departments and the justice court.
