Alex Eala debuts in the pro Grand Slam tournament Monday, Jan. 9, when she sees action in the first round of the women’s singles qualifiers of the 2023 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia.

The team yielded in four of its singles matches, as well as three in doubles.
The other victory came from Christian Lakoseljac, who swept No. 15 Alex Brown, 7-6 (12), 6-3.
Eala’s efforts earned an early praise from team head coach Jeff Zinn.
“I have good points and bad points to take away from the match,” said Zinn in an interview with the university’s official website.
“Good points are that Christian and our new freshmen, Miko Eala, played really well.”
The team seeks to regain bearings when it faces Northwestern on Sunday (Monday in Manila).
Eala has spent a few years as a scholar at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain along with his sister before jumping into the US collegiate scene.
