Friday Alabama fishing report
From Guntersville, Captain Mike Gerry reports it’s likely the unseasonably cold nights will have chased the bass off the beds for a few days, but they’ll be back in the shallows as soon as we get a sunny, warm afternoon or two. The fish move in and out of the shallow bays, flats and creeks at this time of spring, spawning on hard bottom near structure like stumps and logs, grass and boat docks.
Gerry says soft plastics are usually the ticket for fish on the beds, but they hit spinnerbaits and swimjigs both before and after the spawn; www.fishlakeguntersvilleguideservice.com.
