PSC allows use of funds to assist APCo/WPCo customers | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 2, 2021 CHARLESTON The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has authorized Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power Company to use approximately $13 million of the remaining Fresh Start Funds to provide assistance with paying electric bills for residential customers suffering from severe financial problems due to the COVID-19. In 2018, the Commission ordered utilities operating in the state to investigate the financial impacts resulting from the 2017 Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Specifically, an historical object made at a time of great significance for Australia: a square piano built around 1770, housed in the keyboard archives of the School of Music at ANU. Its place of manufacture was Alsace in western Europe, a small body of land that has at times been claimed by Germany, at other times by France. The disputed nature of the territory serves as an ironic parallel to our project.

The Gratitude and Giving Campaign highlights the actions of the foundation and specifically some of its more actively supported funds. It also is including solicitation in support of the Staff Assistance Fund created this year to pass on community donations to the frontline workers of the hospital who helping in the fight against the COCID-19 pandemic. This year the Gratitude and Giving Campaign bridges year-end and new year giving to accommodate those who have specific donation patterns for tax purposes.

ABC Chair Ita Buttrose indicated ABC would increase its support for the arts in 2021, including a new weekly arts program and new collaborative project, ABC Artsfest. From 1 January, ABC TV Plus (rebranded from ABC Comedy) will also showcase art and culture content in primetime, including documentaries and live performances. “No one has been immune from the impact of COVID-19, especially the arts sector, which was one of the first sectors shut down during the pandemic,” Ms Buttrose said.
