Frenchtown Rural Fore spokesman Mel Holtz said when the call came in from 9-1-1, they realized the home was literally within walking distance to the fire station. “Crews responded to a structure fire that happened to be just down from Fire Station One in Frenchtown,” said Holtz. “One they arrived on scene there was smoke and flames visible from the front bedroom. Crews were able to quickly knock the flames down and start a search to see if there were any fire extensions.”
