Star Trek universe. It’s the day that, give or take some attempted intervention by the Borg, humanity’s Zefram Cochrane meets Vulcans for the first time, catapulting humanity into a galactic standard way beyond Earth. To mark the momentous day, we can expect…some news?
Portuguese restaurant group Bar Douro will launch a sandwich-focused spin-off later this month.
Roulote takes its name from the trailers which dominate the street corners of Lisbon and Porto and will initially launch as a pop-up at the group’s original restaurant in Flat Iron Square near London Bridge.
This summer, Roulote will relaunch outside the restaurant in its own street food trailer.
Roulote will initially serve two sandwiches for take-away only; the Portuguese classic bifana (thinly-sliced pork shoulder, poached in a white wine and fermented pepper sauce and served in carcaças bread with savora mustard mayonnaise) and a more contemporary octopus roll, which is billed as being reminiscent of the Portuguese late-night street food favourite, the cachorros (hot dog roll).
