You mate have seen her featured in the New York Times recently and not many npr programs, but this is where she belongs talking about this. She received a phd from columbia university. She became the inaugural director of the program in africanAmerican History. They should have called you the founding director. Thats the moe joouft as we say around here. Her first book, a fragile freedom, africanamerican women and emancipation in the antebellum city, published by yale, an under studied topic up to that point.
