Cleanup crews for the unified command have cleared oily debris and tar balls from a significant stretch of coastline from the southern side of the Indian River Inlet in Delaware to the Assateague Island State Park in Maryland.
The Coast Guard and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control confirmed it is responding to a report of oil on Towers Beach in Dewey.

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control (DNREC) reported on Wednesday afternoon that cleanup efforts in response to a report of oil on Towers Beach near Dewey Beach had been completed. The oiled debris was first reported Monday evening, they said.
