Anne McCarthy, weather services spokeswoman for Environment Canada, said the sky will clear this afternoon, winds will pick up and temperature will plunge to 7 C by tonight.
The weather gets colder as the week progresses, with overnight lows reaching a frigid 12 C before wind chill on Wednesday, she said.
The forecast was the best news airport manager Fred Legace heard in days. For the second consecutive day Monday, flights were cancelled at Fulton Field. Air Canada was hit the hardest, with three aircraft unable to land by noon.
