Cybercrime is enormously profitable and its a great big deal and very big business. Companies are not doing enough to defend themselves but on the other hand a lot of threats are overhyped. There is an anonymous Security Industrial complex supplying weapons to the u. S. Military, the lobbying force for some of these merconium laws. At the same time there is real stuff that needs to be sold to real companies. An essay is not doing a lot to defend the country. Thats not really their mission. Their job is to defend military government networks. They have not been tasked with defending the broader internet. Thats probably good things that we cant judge them on that.
