Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Bei den staatlichen Corona-Hilfen für die Wirtschaft gibt es in Hessen bislang mehr als 1740 Verdachtsfälle auf Betrug. Das teilte das Wirtschaftsministerium auf eine Kleine Anfrage der FDP-Landtagsfraktion in Wiesbaden mit.
Die überaus größte Zahl der Betrugsfälle betrifft den Angaben zufolge die Corona-Soforthilfe, bei der es bis Ende Mai 2020 mehr als 106.420 bewilligte Anträge und eine ausgezahlte Summe von rund 951 Millionen Euro gab. Bei diesem Soforthilfeprogramm gebe es 1531 Betrugsverdachtsfälle, es würden derzeit 1484 Ermittlungsverfahren geführt.
Als Ursache für die Betrugsfälle bei dem am meisten betroffenen Programm gab das Ministerium an, dass Datenabgleiche mit der Finanzverwaltung nicht von Beginn an, sondern erst im laufenden Verfahren eingeführt werden konnten.
