Selkirk Sheriff Court A LABOURER pinned his partner to the ground with his foot to her injury during a violent confrontation at a house in the Borders, Selkirk Sheriff Court has been told. James Hamilton, 30, also admitted making threatening and abusive remarks towards the woman at the house in West Linton on October 10. Procurator fiscal Fraser Matheson explained the couple had spent the previous night together drinking and watching television. The police had visited regarding a noise complaint in the area and left the house. But after midnight things became heated between the couple with Hamilton abusive towards her with foul-mouthed insults and calling her an unfit mother”.

Hawick woman assaulted police officers in BGH

Borders General Hospital A WOMAN who refused to leave the Borders General Hospital after being discharged and ended up assaulting police officers has been ordered to be of good behaviour for the next nine months. Stephanie Muir, 30, of Howdenbank, Hawick, pleaded guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour in the casualty department in December of last year and then assaulting two police officers. Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that Muir had been discharged earlier in the morning but said she did not want to leave. Members of staff tried to get her to leave but she continued to refuse to do so.
