Streets. [ screaming ] reporter dramatic video of an entire building imploding after a 7. 1 magnitude earthquake jolted mexico city and its surrounding areas. [ sirens ] reporter at large forced thousands to flee nearby buildings only to watch streetlights sway overhead. Meanwhile, others huddled inside clenching each other for comfort fearing the floor could crumble below them. This video posted on twitter shows the side of another building collapsing to the ground. As onlookers screamed and cried in horror. Streets were littered with rubble and debris. Thousands of Community Members joined rescue workers as they worked to start their recovery process. Finally, a positive sign. Someone had been found in the rubble alive as crews rushed to carry survivors away on gurneys to seek treatment. Making these fires among the deadliest in history. More than 300 square miles have burned. Six times the size of San Francisco. The Property Damage is occurring. 3500 homes and businesses destroyed. Most of them in santa rosa. 25,000 people who have been evacuated. 400 people are still missing. Sonoma county sheriff said the rescue efforts have become a search for remains in the disaster zone. Identification is going to be hard. So far in the recovery we have found bodies that were almost completely intact. We have found bodies that were nothing more than ash and bones. Is healthy cal fire map looks in the northbay. Two fires along the Sonoma Sonoma and napa county line have merged into one. The tubs fire from calistoga to santa rosa is still 10 contained. Swimming pools are filled and cooling centers are open as people cope with blazing temperatures of a september heat wave. Abc7 news was on the San Francisco water front to get these pictures. Only one city came close to breaking the temperatures. There is a thin, shallow layer of fog so the rest of the bay area is just sweltering. Oakland airport, 103. 107 today was the high in antioch and livermore. Those werent records, but pretty hot. 100 the high in redwood city and 86 here in San Francisco.
