Gregory “Greg” Paul Frederick began his life story in Fargo on April 27, 1949 and ended it in his home in West Fargo on September 20, 2023. Other than the four years that he was in the Navy, he lived in and was proud of North Dakota. Greg, his parents Helen and Dick, and younger sister, Becky, lived on the north side of Fargo where he graduated from North High in 1967. After graduation, he worked at Fargo Foundry before enlisting in the Navy where he was stationed on the USS Long Beach. Greg talked about his duties as a radar man and the time spent overseas in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and other places while serving in the Navy. He met his wife, Connie, in California in 1973 around the time that he was discharged, and they got married the following year in Fargo. Greg’s father passed away in 1973 and a few years later, his mother married Peter Gress, a welcome addition to the family. More welcome additions came when Greg became a father.
