Interstate 280 near westboro avenue. The chp tweeted heavy hail was causing some delays and they told drivers slow down, reduce your speed. That mix of wild weather was seen all over the bay area. Want to show you some video from orinda which was where i was caught in a sudden burst of hail over there. Just like that. I was on highway 24 going to orinda and all of the sudden i had to stick my hand out the window. I said that cant be hail. The sound is unmistakable. We were in Castro Valley yesterday afternoon, Steve Paulson, when we got a brief hail storm. My kids were delighted. They thought it was snow. Made heck of a noise too. That 280, that took the honors if you will. We still have some rain going through, possibility of more hail. When we get these sun breaks, a little afternoon heating, certainly would not be surprised if we get a little bit more. Cold air is in place. We should see drier air coming in here.
