At Franciscan Health in Lafayette, one story has come full circle. After 16 months Franciscan Health in Lafayette is welcoming back volunteers. However, due to the pandemic, there will be some changes.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)- After 16 months Franciscan Health in Lafayette is welcoming back volunteers. However, due to the pandemic, there will be some changes. Some volunteers are eager to get back. I missed it, said Judy Koontz a volunteer of 6 years. I guess more than anything I just missed not coming in and being with people.
So far the hospital is welcoming back 120 volunteers all of which have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI)-Governor Eric Holcomb announced Wednesday that hospitals will be required to postpone or reschedule non-emergency procedures. Outpatient surgeries will still take place but any surgery that requires a patient to stay overnight at the hospital will be postponed if it is elective. Health leaders in Lafayette say this is something that’s needed as their ICU beds continue to be full.
